P2P on a Mac

P2P Mac OS XSome people, mostly those new to the Mac OS, aren’t aware of the wide array of P2P software that is available. OS X i would say is just as good if not even better then Windows in a file sharing sense. With the relatively small amount of virus and exploit issues that Mac experiences, it is a much more safe environment to dabble in file sharing with. In this article, i would like to discuss a couple P2P options available for OS X, and some of my favorite clients for each. OS X Command Line

OS X Terminal CommandsTo many people the command line is a daunting thing that is not something to be tampered with. Believe me when i say that its time to put your fears behind you, and delve into the world of simplifying some of your basic tasks through the command line. You will be surprised to know how many useful utilities and functions can be performed in that little black box, many of which seem even simpler and more useful then their GUI counterparts. Remove DRM from iTunes

Remove iTunes DRMIts hard to believe that we are still plagued with DRM issues to this day. Its hard to listen to music and transfer it from computer to device without having to worry about whether it will work or if Uncle Sam is watching. Lucky for us there is a slew of information online concerning DRM and how to avoid its downfalls. Even better for us Mac users there’s a clear and concise method for removing DRM from iTunes (or the Mac in general). Lets see how it works. (more…)

Intel Mac Startup Key Commands

OS X Startup CommandsApple doesn’t exactly make it obvious that you can hold down keys to access or activate special functions during startup. Throughout the years people have used these to fix various issues with their Mac’s ranging from stuck discs to a computer that doesn’t boot. Some of these commands have changed throughout the years, while others have remained the same. Remove Duplicates in iTunes

iTunes duplicate songsSick of seeing duplicate songs in iTunes? It seems to happen all the time when i download mix tapes (free legal ones of course). Luckily for us, iTunes provides two features for removing duplicate songs that are really easy to use, and shouldn’t take too long (unless you have a lot of dupes). The first feature just looks for similar songs with a similar length and title, while the second is a bit more complicated and looks for exact duplicates, meaning the same name, album, length, etc. Here is how it works.
